Volunteer
Working Musicians Alliance welcomes participation from individuals who want to help strengthen professional standards, educational resources, industry communication, networking systems, and advocacy-oriented support throughout the music industry.
WMA operates through participation.
Writers, musicians, venues, engineers, photographers, designers, researchers, touring professionals, technical specialists, educators, legal professionals, and other industry participants all help contribute to the growth of the alliance and its resource systems.
Volunteer participation may include:
- article writing and educational content
- research and information gathering
- glossary and resource development
- venue outreach
- social media assistance
- photography and video support
- editing and proofreading
- technical and website assistance
- organizational support
- networking and outreach efforts
- database organization
- industry communication
- and other areas relevant to the operation and growth of the alliance
WMA values professionalism, responsible communication, factual discussion, organization, reliability, and constructive participation.
Volunteers are expected to:
- communicate professionally
- participate responsibly
- avoid harassment or disruptive behavior
- support factual and documentation-oriented discussion
- contribute constructively
- work respectfully with individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives
Formal credentials are not always required. Experience, professionalism, reliability, and a genuine interest in strengthening the music industry environment are highly valued.
